Syllabus
The class syllabus is broken into three sections.

Homeworks
- Reading assignment. The semester goes quickly,
and you should read the material as soon as possible.
Recommended reading appears on the syllabus.
Please read Weeks chapters 1, 2, and 5 during the first week.
- Homework 1: Paper summary and
presentation.
The summary is due September 3,
the same day as the presentations.
Please leave feedback for each other with
the class feedback
form.
- Homework 2: Do not work in groups.
Otherwise, use the following
Project
proposal guidelines.
The project proposal is due, as a hardcopy
in class, Thursday, September 10.
You will also present your proposal to the class on this date (15 to 20 minutes).
- Practice homework problems for you to work on.
- Midterm exam: Instead of a "normal" exam, we will have an
oral exam. You will be assigned
2 problems from the above practice problem list. On September 29,
you will
present your problems to the class. You are expected to answer any
questions about the problems that
you are assigned.

- Final Project Report Guidelines
On the day of the final exam, you will present your project to the class,
and turn in your final report. Your presentation should last no
more than 20 minutes,
not including time for questions and answers.
- Final Exam Tuesday, December 8, 5:00 p.m., in the classroom.
